Solving the Puzzle

In college, I was considering a variety of careers in healthcare when a friend of mine hurt himself in flag football and I was able to see his recovery process. He suggested that I volunteer at the PT facility where he was rehabilitating and they offered me a job. Working there I began to appreciate the field of physical therapy. I enjoy the problem solving aspect of it and the scientific approach behind PT. I find PT to be a mental challenge, a puzzle to solve. I use scientific theory, research and evidence-based practices to come up with solutions for my patients. For me, the more challenging the case, the better.

Staying Active

Physical activity is very important to me. I am very vested in my health and improving myself in all capacities. If it involves activity, I do it. I have participated in CrossFit and full contact kickboxing. I’ve also run two marathons, but right now I’m focused on keeping my body in shape as it changes over time, maintaining optimal functionality through weights and cardiovascular activities.

Don’t Give Up

One thing I’d like patients to know is they have so much power to improve their wellness, even if another PT or healthcare provider has led them to believe otherwise. Educating and empowering our patients is a big focus here. That’s why I’ve created videos for the Catalyst PT YouTube channel with information and easy-to-follow exercises that anyone can access to help maintain their functionality and live pain free. Our patients benefit from our experience but also our ongoing education and training. Our practice uses a lot of cutting-edge modalities that were once only available to pro athletes. Whatever your physical condition, there are always ways to improve and maintain your mobility.

I swear by this place! I was referred by my rheumatologist and refused to go for months. After numerous injections and other PTs and months of continuous debilitating pain, I relented and visited Catalyst Physical Therapy. I haven’t looked back since. I am still overcoming the years of damage to my body by having only the symptoms, not the cause, addressed. Jorge Guerrero and Michael Landin have educated me on my body mechanics and identified key areas to work on. They stay on top of the latest techniques and therapies. My strength and range of motion have continuously improved. All of the staff are excellent! In most places you are quickly left by the PTs and passed on to the techs/assistants who half-heartedly watch as you work by yourself. Not here! Roxanne and Chris, who I work with regularly are true extensions of the doctors, who keep an eagle eye on you. They make sure you maintain proper form and do the therapy as intended. I look forward to growing even stronger with Catalyst.
